THE PARTICIPANTS FOR THE EVENTS for the upcoming All-Star Weekend of the National Basketball Association have been revealed last January 30, 2014. One of the most anticipated parts of the NBA regular season, the All-Star weekend, will be filled with events that would prove true the motto “Where amazing happens.”.
MVP ladder candidates, Lebron James and Kevin Durant, lead their squads in this year’s All-Star game. The West has won the last three All-Star games, and Kevin Durant (along with his co-West All-Star) would do his best to keep the streak going. Joining him in the West Starting Five are forwards Blake Griffin and Kevin Love. The backcourt consists of Stephen Curry and Kobe Bryant, though Kobe’s supposed 15th All-Star appearance is still a question due to his knee injury.
The past years have labelled the East as the weaker of the two conferences despite Miami winning the last two Playoffs. LeBron James would like to move on from last year’s loss as he is joined by Miami Heat teammate Dwayne Wade to lead this year’s East Allstars. Kyrie Irving, Paul George, and Carmelo Anthony also look forward to redeem the East and end the three year losing streak.
Other All-Star representing the East includes John Wall, DeMar Derozan, and Joe Johnson in the back court. The front court consists of Paul Millsap, Joakim Noah, Roy Hibbert, and Chris Bosh.
The West All-Star includes last year’s All-Star MVP Chris Paul, Tony Parker, Damian Lillard, James Harden, Dirk Nowitzki, Dwight Howard, and LaMarcus Aldridge.
